Die Grundidee ist denkbar einfach: Insgesamt 30
österreichische und internationale Musiker wurden unabhängig
voneinander von Oliver Hangl beauftragt, einen Original-Soundtrack
zu einem S-8 Trickfilm (16mm Blowup) zu komponieren, der 1998 gemeinsam
mit Andrea Gergely (H) gedreht wurde. „Lovers‘ Walk“
zeigt einen jungen Mann, der in einem Park auf seiner Gitarre spielt.
Überrascht vom plötzlichen Auftauchen eines fliegenden
Mädchens, spielt er ein Gitarrensolo, um zuerst selbst und
schließlich mit ihr gemeinsam zu fliegen.
Ziel ist es, ein möglichst breites Spektrum an verschiedenen
Musikrichtungen nebeneinander und gegenüber zu stellen, um
die Wechselwirkung von (Film-) Bild und Ton zu untersuchen. Von
Pop zu Rock über Electrofluff hin zu Jazz und Moderne Klassik
und... Die Präsentationsform ist äusserst variabel und
reicht von Videoinstallationen über Einzel- bzw. Dauerscreenings
hin zur multimedialen Live-Show.

Lovers’ Walk is based on a short S8-trickfilm which
was originally shot together with Hungarian artist Andrea Gergely
in 1998. The film shows a young man in a park playing his guitar.
All of a sudden a girl appears behind him flying with his music.
Surprised and startled, he plays a jolly guitar solo and finally
joins the girl flying through the air.
Oliver Hangl commissioned 30
Austrian and international musicians
each to compose an exclusive soundtrack for the film. The aim is
to assemble a great variety of different music-styles in order to
explore the impact of sound on images. From Pop to Rock across Electrofluff
to Jazz and Modern Classics and all that‘s missing here ...
The possible forms of presentation vary alot: from video-installations
to full length or selected screenings to multimedia live-shows.
